Situated in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, this former print works site is now a Construction College providing specialist courses in sustainable methods of construction and green technologies.
Steane completed the M&E design from Stage 4 and carried out the M&E for the refurbishment of this old building with an emphasis on renewable technology to meet its high energy efficiency rating.
Air source heat pumps, compressed air and natural ventilation systems were installed and managed by a BMS system. Photovoltaics and specialist lighting systems all contributed to achieve this.
Completed in September 2023.
