Steane completed the M&E Design from Stage 3 and full installation at Pritchatts Park Village Student Campus, University of Birmingham.
This project was delivered 9 months early in time for the new academic year in 2023 and was a mixture of new and refurbed Townhouses, Student accommodation blocks and a Social Hub.
Our overall remit included for:-
Pritchatts Park: A new build development consisting of 7 blocks of new build town houses equating to 211 beds.
Ashcroft: A new build development consisting of 4 blocks of new build town houses equating to 285 beds.
Pritchatts House: A 5 storey refurbishment of existing building equating to 164 beds.
In addition to the above, in Summer 2022, Steane carried out light refurb works in accommodation blocks - Spinney Blocks, Ashcroft 1 and 2 and Oakley Court.
In Summer 2023, Steane carried out additional light refurb works in accommodation blocks – Ashcroft 3 and 4 and four blocks in Pritchatts Road.

Steane installation works included:
Renewables in the form of Photovoltaics installed on Pritchatts House and on the New Builds provide clean energy with approximately 100,000 kw/h annually.
Five air source heat pumps were installed for the heating system at Pritchatts house with low surface temperature radiators, air conditioning, general ventilation and a BMS control System.
All new builds consisted of incoming mains distribution, small power, data, lighting and emergency lighting, door access, fire alarm, disabled toilet alarms. hot and cold water services, electric heating systems, air conditioning, ventilation and disabled refuge alarms.
Summer refurb works also consisted of sitewide CCTV, fire alarm, lighting upgrades and a new boiler to Spinney Blocks.
