As part of an overall city centre regeneration scheme in Derby, the site of the former Derbyshire Royal Infirmary has been developed into a new housing scheme by Wavensmere.
Steane completed the Stage 4 M&E design and install of 140 apartments in Block A in January 2023 and 209 apartments in Block B in November 2023.
Working alongside this, Steane completed the Stage 4 M&E design and install on a further three blocks consisting of 67 apartments in September 2023 for Block E4 and Block E3 completed in February 2024 consisting of 54 apartments. The final block E2 consisting of 118 apartments is due to finish September 2024.
On the existing site, a building known as the 'Pepperpot' for its likeness to its name was left standing due to its architectural elegance and prominence. This has been turned into an onsite stylish Restaurant & Cocktail bar in which Steane has completed Stage 3 and 4 Design and install.
